Party Animals!

We had another party last weekend. No catfood this time around but plenty of human food.

Mama prepared a sort of North-South combo (Aussie BBQ with Malaysian flavours). We had beef and chicken satay with peanut sauce, lamb chops and chicken wings, salad, fried noodles with prawns and fruits.

Dad was good at helping Mama too. "For the first time in my life, I'm skewering bamboo sticks into meat to make satay...," he said. There's always a first time, Dad.

Then there was a drama of sorts when our portable BBQ set wouldn't start. Dad thinks the thermostat has gone kaput. So we had to borrow Uncle Is' portable set. While waiting for him to arrive, Dad grilled some satay using an Ikea pan on a small gas stove. (see pix below)

Yummy....chicken satay for everyone.

Kudos to Dad for his forward thinking or else the early guests - Aunty Ana, Uncle Ron and their daughter Tiyana - would have to starve.

Unfortunately, as more guests arrive, Brad and I were told to stay in the bedroom and not flirt with people. We were allowed some courtesy appearances but that was all. Mama had some heart stopping moments last year when we were allowed to mingle with the guests and some kids (they're not invited this year) chased us around the house until we were exhausted. The "terrible twins" were scary little people, I must say. Hence the curfew.

No worries, we're not complaining. At the end of the day, after everyone else has gone, Dad had some quality "Magnum" time with us. Paw lickin' good! meow!

G'day Cat, love that chicken satay.
Good for your dad, very innovative.
I love satay.....20 sticks no problemos, include ketupat, timun and bawang, chili too.

Guess you had good fun too. Best regards, Lee.

Uncle Lee,
Buy that ticket to Sydney now. We still have leftover ketupat, peanut sauce and sambal. Plus about 100 uncooked satay still in the freezer (Mama made more than 300 but only about 200 were consumed). But only 20 sticks? I'm sure you can eat more. yummmm.....

What a lovely party, kitties! Your Dad is so smart, can improvise and make satay! Wow! I agree with your Mama that it is safer for you indoors! I wouldn't want you to be terrorised by nasty children!

CO78,
Woohoo! Don't let my Dad knows you think he's smart...heheheh...he kinda prefers a low profile.
I have had my fair share of nasty children in my previous home. Lucky my Mama rescued me. So, yeah, nasty children not welcomed in our home. Ever ever ever....meow!

Another party? Seronok nya, tak habis raya lagi?

Satay...hmmmm...sedap!
Magnum...hmmm...sedap juga!

Yeah...bruce pun suka children...tapi some can be cruel, suka tarik ekor dia. Good for you all, your mum's so protective!

Aunty Anne,
That party was on Diwali actually. heheheh...so technically not Raya party. Yeah, we cats are helpless when it comes to protecting ourselves against nasty and cruel children. We hate to have our tails pulled too. If we react by scratching them, their parents won't be happy. sigh....
You must protect Bruce too, OK? meow!

Meow-meow! Jeles! jeles! is this Magnum as in that choc-coated ice-cream with the yummy vanilla or magnum as in -- yunno -- vino? *hicks*

Andrea darl',
I'm the 3S Angelina Jolie - sexy, seductive, sober. So, this "magnum" is neither in the vino nor the 4D categories. We prefer the white chocolate ones...so yummmmm....you want one? We still have some in the freezer. meow!
