Curiosity Killed the ?????

I was asleep on the loft bed when I heard a commotion in the living room. "The three boys are up to something," I thought. But I'm not a normal cat if I'm not curious, right?

So down I went to see what the excitement was all about. I looked at Brad as usually he's the leader of rowdiness. "Look, Angelina. We caught a weird looking creature," he said.

Then I saw it.
Eeuuwww! A dead lizard!!!
I quickly left the scene. Don't want to be caught with something I wasn't a party too in the first place.

The dead lizard - belly up. Hey...where's the tail? Somebody ate it?

See that black single fur next to the dead lizard? The CSI team would certainly say: Pingu did it.

Now...if this lizard** had come a-calling, nobody would dare eat his tail. But with these rowdy boys ...who knows...
Yikes! I hate lizards, dead or alive. Especially not that humongous one I saw at Nanna's garden. purrr....meow!

**There are six species of blue-tongued lizards or skinks in Australia. They vary a bit in colour and size, but most commonly they are grey with broad brown stripes across their back and tail, and they grow to around a foot in length (that's just the head and body, not the tail).

Common or Eastern Blue-tongue Lizard (Tiliqua scincoides scincoides): this one is widespread in the south east of Australia and looks just as described above, grey with dark stripes. More info about them at: http://www.outback-australia-travel-secrets.com/blue-tongue-lizard.html

Hi Ange,

My two doxies love catching lizards, too! So I know why you're so grossed-out!

Btw, thank your mama for the lovely roast chicken recipe in the previous post. I'm always at a loss as to what to cook, and I'm always grateful for inspiration.

Have you seen an iguana? My doxies killed one of those, too. Biiiiiggg lizard, that!

Ayoh Wang, was familiar with just the home lizard and iguana. In Pulau Duyong, some 40+ years ago, the iguana did pose some problems for us since my mum reared chickens to supplement household income.. we lost a lot of chicken eggs and young chicks to them iguana..

RIP, little lizard! Guessed you learned a little too late not to mess with kitties!

Lizards freak me out because I saw one getting decapitated by a passing car, and the headless body continued to run across the street! I was 6 when I witnessed it. I've always been grossed out by lizards ever since.

CO78,
With the combined powers of the Three Mousecateers, I'm sure this won't be their last "project". I choose to remain neutral in all of these. Boys! So, you find them gross too? purrr....meow!

Cat-from-Sydney said...

Aunty Meoww,
Exactly what I did! Them boys know no boundary. purrr...meow!
