In the UK, a kitten has survived despite being trapped in a washing machine for a full cycle.
Toby, the lucky plucky tabby, is thought to have crawled into the washing machine before it was switched on, to escape the summer heatwave.
Doesn't he bear an uncanny resemblance to Brad? hmmm...long lost distant cousin, perhaps?
It was only after the machine had completed its 30-degree cycle that Toby's owner discovered him.
The seven-week-old kitten was rushed from his owner's home in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, to a local vet. Staff at the Kirkton Veterinary Centre warmed the kitten and provided him with oxygen.
Vet David McLaren said: "The kitten was unconscious and hypothermic with an exceptionally low temperature and had clearly swallowed a lot of water.
"As well as the problems caused by the cold water, we also suspected it might have suffered fractures or internal injuries as a result of being spun during the wash."
The pet has now recovered, with no long-term ill-effects, and is back home with his mother and four brothers and sisters.
Angelina's Note to Self: Make sure Brad doesn't jump into the washing machine again.

Oh my goshness! Those of you with animal babies, please PLEASE remember to check your washing machines before you switch them on, fridges before you shut the door, and driveways before you reverse your car. Would you let your one-year-old human offspring wander into the kitchen unsupervised where there are knives, switches and gas knobs? I should think NOT! Our animal companions are babies too and just as helpless. Evolution has not equipped our animal babies to cope with fast-moving vehicles and electrical appliances. Please take extra precautions. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
Get well soon, Little Toby. Sending you lots of love.
CO78,
Let's all pray for Toby.
Poor Toby..
Lots of love from Aunty Sherry. Meow.Meow.
Ahh, and I was just reminding you about it in my comment to your previous posting!
Aunty Sherry,
We love you too...purrr purrr meow!
Aunty Pi,
Don't I always listen to you? *wink* *wink*...purrr....
LUCKY LUCKY TABBY!
This just proves that cats do have 9 lives. I don't think the owners intentionally experimented with the tabby...just that most of us can't think like a cat! Who knows where they are going to curl up for a nap? Only die hard cat lovers like us tiptoe when our cats are asleep on the floor!
Aunty Anne,
Tiptoe? You're worse than my Mama! OK, I admit there were times when she had to delay going to the toilet coz I was sleeping in her lap....teeheehee
Let's hope that never happens to us eh cat?
Biscuit & his Daddy
angelina,
nothing can be worse than holding back when nature calls...your mum's definitely worse than me.
ah...all the things we do for our cats!
Biscuit, you'd better behave well and take good care of your Daddy. You OK with the toilet training now? purrr....
Aunty Anne,
We felines give unconditional love. Thus, a bit of sacrifice here and there won't hurt our Mama, eh? purrr.....
