Slurrrrpppp....!!!!!

A bit messy presentation wise....but it's home cooked and yummy!
It's been a while since I've entered any food/cooking posting. Last weekend we boiled some beef bits for hours and made a yummy broth and it became a yummy Vietnamese Pho. People say, the measure of any decent Vietnamese restaurant is in its offering of Pho. We have yet to check out any Vietnamese restaurant in town. But since we have the ingredients in the pantry and fridge, why not make our own? Mama befriended some nice Vietnamese Australian aunties in the suburb we used to stay in Sydney, who taught us some fabulous recipes like Pho and Ga Xao Sa Ot. We've blogged about Ga Xao Sa Ot yonks ago (just use the search button on the right column.)

Check out the history of Pho here. It is fascinating. Check out the recipe we used here. I'm too lazy to use my paws for any cut and paste job....teeheehee....purrrrr....meow!

Hi Cat, I love this Vietnamese pho. There's a Vietnamese Pho restaurant just across the road from us...and we will pop in once a month for his delicious beef noodles.
What I like is the soup, the aroma is tantalizing. And love the chilli padi goes with it.
There's many of these Pho restaurants here as very popular among the Mat Sallehs.
G'day mate.
Lee.

Uncle Lee,
It can be expensive in restaurants but very cheap to make at home as any beef bits will do. Oh yesss....a gazillion of chili padi too. yummm..... purrr....meow!

this looks delightful! It reminded me of my Dad. My Dad passed in 2001 and Vietnamese food was one of his ultimate faves! xoxo

The furry one loves Pho (Fuh) too eh? Me too with lots of fresh beansprouts, basil leaves, chili padi and a few squeezes of lime. Yummy!

Wonderful to eat when the weather is a little cooler, ie. that in the case of Malaysia is when it rains cats and dogs throughout the afternoon.

Cat-from-Sydney said...

Aunty Gina,
I loooooove it with extra extra basil leaves too. We used to plant our own back in Sydney but here, not bad, just RM1 for a bundle in Bangsar! purrr....meow!
