Scene 1: Bedroom
Mama: Angelina....wakey wakey....time for breakfast....
Angelina: Hmmmmm......(stretching all out).....what's for breakfast, Mama?
Mama: What do you think? Your usual, of course. Unless you want something else?
Angelina: May I have salmon instead of tuna?
Mama: Of course you can.
Scene 2: Kitchen
Mama: Here you are, Your Royal Highness. Salmon on a plate.
Angelina: Auw.....Mama....you're so kind. I'm no royal anything...I'm just your sweet darling daughter....
Mama: Whatever..... Hurry up. We need to start on your language lesson.
Angelina: On a Sunday?
Mama: Does it matter what day? I have to work on weekdays so I'm free to teach you only on weekends. Unless you want to do it at night?
Angelina: Okay.....weekend is fine as long as it's daylight.
Mama: Yeah...so that you don't miss your favourite TV shows....
Angelina: You know me so well, Mama....
Mama: Oooh...shut up and eat. Be quick.
Scene 3: Study
Angelina: I have the textbook, notebook and pencil ready. I'm yours to teach....Mama: Good girl. Now, turn to page 10, Chapter 2: Forms of Greetings
Angelina: Wow! Is this what I'm going to say when I meet Tom for the first time?
Mama: Yes. Also when you meet Nicole, Michael and Nikki.
Angelina: Can't they speak English? Why must I learn their language?
Mama: Yes. They can speak English. But you don't. You speak Australian.
Angelina: Oh! What's the difference?
Mama: That's why you need these lessons. Now read.

Gila-gila? You mean like d comic book? purrrr....meow!
Hi Cat, Aussies speak a different language, so do New Zealanders.
I have BIL in NZ. When he phones I have to say, "you mind speaking English", ha ha.
Its the strong accent Aussies and NZ people have.
Like the way Crocodile Dundee speaks.
'Today' sounds like 'to die' in Aussie, ha ha ha.
G'day, mate.
Lee.
cats here speak tganu dialect tau and banyok makang ikang aye.Cpat sambung crita tak sabar ni, nak tau..
Unclee Lee,
Not just d slang, also weird phrases and idioms, esp if u come from d outback. purrrr......meow!
TK Sensei,
I thot they speak Japanese? purrrr.....meow!
Angelina, why don't you teach Mama and other dimwitted humans to read scents and detect danger, emotions and intentions, like cats do, instead? It would be so much more useful than you learning English. You can already blog in English so well, you don't need any more lessons.
CO78,
No....you can't be serious. There is no way am gonna teach humans the secrets of the cat world. Our abilities are unique to us. purrrr....meow!
I thought I am already wise and educated. Purrr...I am disappointed today because I just discovered that I am not. Australians dont speak English but speak Australianish?
Aunty Yatt,
Sorry to have to disappoint you. I just may have to disappoint you a little bit further. There is no such term as Australianish. It's just Australian. *winks* purrrr....meow!
'Strine is a bit different than English, isn't it? (ex: "How are ya goin'?") But Angelina, I'm sure you can master learning a new language in no time, I mean with all that Actor's Training and all...
Cloon dear,
Prob is, they look similar in writing but totally different in speaking. What's a cat to do? purrrr.....meow!
