We Say Duck, They Say Bebek

Translation: dada = breast, paha = thigh, kepala = head, ati = liver, ampela = gizzard, ceker = leg. Hmm....which means you get to eat all parts of a duck at this shop.
Yeah....he ate and he forgot his family. Yeah, Dad. Where's my portion of the deep fried duck?
It's a simple lunch actually. Just fried duck, white rice, raw vege and hot chili condiments (sambal).
Brad says: Maybe if they had steamed or roasted the duck....won't that be healthier? But not if you eat with buttered rice.... har har har *evil laughs*

He definitely should have kept the bony bits for you guys kan :-). That would have been an awesome souvenir from Indon but definitely would have dumbfounded the custom people, hehehehe.

you know what is really strange? I eat chicken, turkey, all kinds of beef, and for some reason I cannot bring myself to eat duck. It looks delicious but the first (and last) time I ever ordered it, it was the only meal in my entire life that I ever sent back.
I have no clue why I am like that with duck.

Aunty Jul,
This is in Java, they still say ayam. Manuk is for bird. Manuk (ayam) is only in Borneo and the Philippines, I think. har har har *evil laughs*

Aunty Lili,
The meat is slightly tougher than chicken, in my opinion. In OZ, we used to buy the "Luv-a-Duck" range from the butchery. My Mak Long makes a mean itik rendang and itik masak lomak cili api.
Gulai kucing? Hukum memakan haiwan yang berkuku dan bertaring adalah haram. Ada beran???? har har har *evil laughs*

Ducks are cute, they wag their tails when they are happy. I could never eat them but I guess the Rowdies wouldn't mind some!

LOL @ LP's comment -- "pooper"! Oh you cheeky scheming cats! I'll bet you guys will be hogging a drumstick each!
