Translation: dada = breast, paha = thigh, kepala = head, ati = liver, ampela = gizzard, ceker = leg. Hmm....which means you get to eat all parts of a duck at this shop.
Yeah....he ate and he forgot his family. Yeah, Dad. Where's my portion of the deep fried duck?
It's a simple lunch actually. Just fried duck, white rice, raw vege and hot chili condiments (sambal).
Maybe if they had steamed or roasted the duck....won't that be healthier? But not if you eat with buttered rice.... har har har *evil laughs*
kalau ayam, they called manuk
He definitely should have kept the bony bits for you guys kan :-). That would have been an awesome souvenir from Indon but definitely would have dumbfounded the custom people, hehehehe.
you know what is really strange? I eat chicken, turkey, all kinds of beef, and for some reason I cannot bring myself to eat duck. It looks delicious but the first (and last) time I ever ordered it, it was the only meal in my entire life that I ever sent back.
I have no clue why I am like that with duck.
I say bebek and here they say itik???
kat mane nik???
eh best ke daging itik tu ekk...tak penah makan lah kuekkuek *tetibe :D
Oh, let dad have a boys-lunch-out in peace, Brad!
Kita tak pernah makan bebek. They say it tastes like chicken... hahahaha)))
Hmm...I'm trying my hands on gulai kucing tumis darat...ha ha ha)) Amacam...ada beran? hikhik
Heyyy... it's Haji Slamet's Duck ! It's super duper awesome ! Lip smacking ^_^ Hey, maybe they should open a franchise in Malaysia ! Yumm... bebek....
This is in Java, they still say ayam. Manuk is for bird. Manuk (ayam) is only in Borneo and the Philippines, I think. har har har *evil laughs*
Kastam Malaysia mana ada buka beg!!! har har har *evil laughs*
My Mama said she has no qualms about ducks....and loves duck liver pate... but no way will she eat rabbit. Looks too much like a skinned cat. har har har *evil laughs*
Au & Target,
Bebek is itik in Malaysia. Yeah, you're right. har har har *evil laughs*
Welcome to my world! Ni bukan kat Malaysia. har har har *evil laughs*
Mama kata masak lemak cili api pun sodap! har har har *evil laughs*
I'm a boy too. I should be there. har har har *evil laughs*
The meat is slightly tougher than chicken, in my opinion. In OZ, we used to buy the "Luv-a-Duck" range from the butchery. My Mak Long makes a mean itik rendang and itik masak lomak cili api.
Gulai kucing? Hukum memakan haiwan yang berkuku dan bertaring adalah haram. Ada beran???? har har har *evil laughs*
Hj Slamet should open one right next door to Wong Solo! What say you? har har har *evil laughs*
bg org jawa,
manuk tu burung ...
itek, they call bebek,
telur, they call endok
telor itek = endok bebek ..
enjoy eating .
Uncle Aby ni orang keturunan Jawa ke? Kita nak private tuition boleh? Kita suka makan getok dengan nasi ambeng. har har har *evil laughs*
We cats would eat all the tasty meats and the dogs could have the pooper, bones, feet, necks and all the other nasty/lesser stuffs! Mwahahahaha.
the critters in The Cottage
Oh yess...you are absolutely right. har har har *evil laughs*
Ducks are cute, they wag their tails when they are happy. I could never eat them but I guess the Rowdies wouldn't mind some!
LOL @ LP's comment -- "pooper"! Oh you cheeky scheming cats! I'll bet you guys will be hogging a drumstick each!
Yess...cheeky is the word. And I'll be joining the party... har har har *evil laughs*
Looking at the visitors' comments I know I am not the only one to sit tight watching you enjoy your duck, ampela, kepala and all. I stick to my ikang singgang.
What about itik singgang? har har har *evil laughs*
