Monday Blues: Wake Up!!!

When we were having a little adventure in Penang a few weeks ago, we stayed at this pawesome hotel at Miami May. It's Miami Bay, Penang, not Miami, Florida or Miami Beach, Gold Coast, OK?

Anyway, Dad made us wake really early to catch the sunrise. So, enjoy the pictures and the song (thank you Aunty YouTube) I've chosen to get you in the mood. It's Norah Jones....

The Elusive Sunset

Betung 1: Very mild wow factor.

Betung 2: Slightly better as the sun goes lower on the horizon.

Betung 3: I like that shimmer on the water effect.

Ferringhi 1: Just a red dot in the horizon.

Ferringhi 2: Red dot dimming fast.

Ferringhi 3: Red dot gone but reddish/orangey tinge lingers.

First location - Kampung Sungai Betung, southwest of Penang Island, facing Straits of Malacca - shots taken using Mama's Leica DSLR, no tripod, 420mm zoom lens.
Second location - Bayusenja, Batu Ferringhi, Penang, facing Andaman Sea - shots taken using Dad's Nikon DSLR, no tripod, 250mm zoom lens.

Angelina's note: Mama and Dad better improve on their photography skills lest I refuse to tag along when they're off to the middle of nowhere (like that first location). The photography session in Ferringhi was done before we had dinner with my furrriends in the area. purrr....meow!

A Waterfall By Chance

We were looking for this..... 

When we saw this...

And this. Remember this as a future landmark (in case someone demolish the makeshift signboard). 

The building, I believe, is not a farm house but rather a tua pe'kong. 

At first glance, not much of a waterfall, I thought. 

Ooooh....do we really have to climb those steps? 

Ladies and Gentlemen, Cats and Felines, this is what we found after all the huffing and puffing. Pawesome, eh? 

Dad was experimenting with the manual features of the DSLR and captured this. Fancy a swim anyone?

This handsome chap came by to say hello to us.

Weird looking "bonsai" - I call this the constricting boa style.

Despite the hefty fine stated on the signboard, the litter bugs spoilt the place.

I thought these were my lunch....

Or these perhaps? Come here fishy fishy....come to mummy.... yummmm....

So, next time you're in Batu Feringghi, forget the pubs, or night market, or fancy hotels, go for a dip at this unknown waterfall. Refresh your soul, yeah! The locals dub this place as Cinta (love) on the Rocks. Beats me how they come up with this name. purrr....meow!
